Steps for Life at its heart, is a community event, and an experience best shared with those important to you. Joining or forming a team is the best way to experience Steps for Life, from the moment you register to event weekend. Read about our different types of teams below and call your Regional Development Coordinator for your region to ask any questions and get registered.
Corporate Challenge Team (Business)
The Steps for Life Corporate Challenge is a fun and friendly competition designed for leading companies who understand the importance of health and safety and want to demonstrate their commitment. These companies “get it” and want to issue a challenge to other companies to “get it” too. Registering as a Corporate Challenge Team is easy.
Step 1 – Recruit: Assemble your team of 3 to 10 colleagues. (If you have more than 10, form a second team and compete against each other!) To help, you can download, customize and post your own Corporate Challenge flyer.
Step 2 – Register: Registering online is easier than ever before! Download our walker toolkit for step-by-step instruction on how to register your team. The registration fee for each member of your corporate team is $10 per walker.
Step 3 – Raise Funds: Each Corporate Challenger (walker) commits to raising a minimum of $100 in pledges, but don’t stop there! Here’s all the information you need to start fundraising for Steps for Life, plus here’s key steps to creating a successful Corporate Challenge Team!
PLUS Prizes for Top Corporate Challengers will be awarded to the team that raises the most in personal donations* (excluding sponsorship). There will also be prizes for the top team of each region; as well as an honourable mention to be determined by Threads of Life staff. Corporate Challenge Team Captains: register a team by the early bird deadline (April 15th) and be entered into a random draw for an individual prize package! Who’s leading the way? Community Teams (Family & Friends)
All it takes is two people to create a team. Wouldn’t it be great to walk alongside your friends, family, sports teams, university friends, community groups united to raise awareness? Download our walker toolkit package for step-by-step instruction on how to register your team.
+ Open Teams
Open teams are teams who welcome new people on their team. Grab a friend and sign up to one of these great teams, knowing that you’ll not only make new friends but will receive extra support from your new teammates. Simply start your online registration by selecting “join a team” and names of open teams will be available to you. If you have any questions, just ask.
We are often asked, “why is there a registration fee”?
Threads of Life asks its walkers to pay a registration fee to offset the costs of the walk which includes a lunch, refreshments and T-shirt. This allows us to dedicate the money raised from the walkers to go directly into Threads of Life family support programs and services. To learn more, visit:
