Registering for Steps for Life is easier than ever before!
Families who have suffered from a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease walk alongside employers and employees, health and safety professionals, ministry of labour inspectors, managers, workers, local mayors and councilors and many others to raise awareness about the importance of all Canadians returning home safely at the end of their work day and to support those living with the outcome of a workplace tragedy.
Step up and join others in your community to raise awareness about the importance of preventing workplace injuries and illnesses!
- Decide your participant level.
You can participate as an individual or a team! Once you’ve decided how you’d like to participate, you can proceed to register for your local Steps for Life walk!
- Register to walk.
Follow the link to your community to register online or by mail, fax, or email. (Registration fee paid by credit card. To pay registration fee by cheque mailed to Threads of Life, register by mail, fax or email.)
- Start fundraising.
Now that you’re registered, you are ready to start collecting donations and fundraising for your local Steps for Life walk. Check out your walker toolkit + the fundraising information page to help you reach your goal.
- If registered online, you can set up your own personal fundraising page.
- If registering by mail, and would like to collect pledges the old fashioned way – download and print your pledge sheet.

We are often asked, “why is there a registration fee”?
Threads of Life asks its walkers to pay a registration fee to offset the costs of the walk which includes a lunch, refreshments and T-shirt. This allows us to dedicate the money raised from the walkers to go directly into Threads of Life family support programs and services. To learn more, visit:
